Support & Help Center

We're here to help you dial in printer calibration, optimize camera positioning, and capture flawless 3D print timelapses.

Getting Started

New to 3D Printcam? Follow these quick steps to record your first studio-quality timelapse:

  • 1 Download 3D Printcam from the App Store or Google Play.
  • 2 Mount Your Phone: Secure your phone on a small tripod with a clear view of your 3D printer bed.
  • 3 Set Docking Target: Drag and position the on-screen target box over the spot where your toolhead parks between layers.
  • 4 Configure Slicer: Enable nozzle park on layer change in your slicer (Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, or Cura).
  • 5 Tap Record: 3D Printcam automatically detects each docking pause and captures a pristine still directly to your camera roll.

Common Questions

Why didn't the camera trigger?

Ensure the target box directly overlaps where the nozzle stops. Tap Auto-Calibrate to dial in optical sensitivity for your lighting.

Does it upload photos to the cloud?

No. 3D Printcam runs 100% locally on your phone hardware. No photos, camera feeds, or print files are ever transmitted to any external server.

Will my phone overheat on 24h prints?

No. The app automatically enters Low-Power Dark Screen mode during recording, keeping your phone cool and energy efficient.

Where are my photos saved?

Photos are kept in the app, with each print saved as its own session. Exported videos go to your phone's gallery, and you can save the photos there too.
